Match Preview Rangers vs Motherwell 1st April 2017

After a couple days of no action due to international week, We are back in league action and it seems we are raring to go as a team with the team working six days a week according to Andy Halliday we are ready to take away Celtic’s potential treble which is fighting talk we like to hear.

Anyway’s we welcome Motherwell at home, Who sacked Mark McGhee few weeks ago and was replaced by former Oldham manager Stephan Robinson. They currently sit tenth place with Louis Moult top scorer with eleven goals for the league season and Richard Tait top of the assist charts with five.

In the league at home they currently sit bottom scoring eighteen and conceding 30, Whilst away they sit seventh with a goals for record of fifteen and goals conceded twenty-seven. Meanwhile compare to Rangers we currently sit third in the home records with twenty-four goals scored and only nine conceded and away we sit fourth with eighteen scored and twenty-four conceded.

Last five games form table proves Rangers are currently in better form with us positioned fifth with seven points an goals for of ten against seven conceded. With Motherwell only picking up three points out of fifteen points so they sit eleventh to mirror their current position overall position, They have scored four in the last five and conceded eleven. Motherwell have only won once in their last seven matches and that was a 2-1 away win to Kilmarnock. Their last game was before international break which was a loss at home to St Johnstone result being 2-1.

Previous four meetings between Rangers and Motherwell

Motherwell 0-2 Rangers
Rangers 2-1 Motherwell
Rangers 2-1 Motherwell
Motherwell 0-2 Rangers

Last win for Motherwell in all competitive competitions at Ibrox was back in 2015, However they haven’t won at Ibrox in the the top flight in the league since May 1997

My mini verdict

I believe we will be too strong for Motherwell this weekend as we will be refreshed and a real new look and we seem to have in my opinion had enough time for the players to settle in to a new look and training regime under Pedro Caixinha. I feel we will dominate the ball and box an much more aggressive look to the way we play.

My tips for the game are:

Rangers to win 3-0
Joe Garner to score first
Over 2.5 goals

My Predicted Line Up
